My personal journey of learning and growth
My story
At 30 years old, I was on top of the world. I had married the man of my dreams, had been successful in my chosen field of education reform, a few years before had begun a PhD from one of the top universities in the world, and had just gotten pregnant with my first child. 10 months after he was born, I was diagnosed with MS. After a frantic search for cures, of which unfortunately there were none, I chose to follow a functional medicine approach to managing my symptoms (which targets diet, supplements, exercise, and avoiding stress), instead of the allopathic approach which has many risks/ side effects.. Over the next five years, I lost the ability to walk, and began using a wheelchair. My journey over the next 5 years has led to a lot more personal learning and growth than I had expected, and a renewed desire to use my many blessings to foster more learning and growth for others (both children and adults) as I am able.
